Goodie Spolight: inBloom Studio
Sep 28
Choosing inBloom Studio as our Goodie Spotlight was a no-brainer. Joelle Segal, the founder of inBloom Studio is one creative lady who is very artistic and has a great eye for awesome design. She even designs play-date cards for parents and super cute b-day invites (see below). inBloom Studio designed the Little Party-Goers logo, website, business cards and pamphlets, and let me tell you….we LOVED working with them- they made our design process so easy & fun! Read below to find out what makes inBloom Studio so unique!
LPG: 1.Please explain briefly when and why you started inBloom Studio.
Ans: inBloom Studio was born in July 2008, as a fresh start. I studied Biology at University and then got a bit closer to my passion by studying Plant and Wildlife Illustration for a year in Australia. While in Australia, I found myself really drawn to everything going on in the graphic design program next door, and was always checking out their exhibitions and their artwork. I started getting into design by creating greeting cards, and before I knew it I was getting orders for custom invitations, then logos and brand identities, stationery and websites. It all just kind of evolved naturally!
LPG: 2. What makes inBloom Studio unique?
Ans: inBloom Studio is unique for a few reasons, but mainly our design style. I like to keep things simple, clean and elegant and I find my artistic background really helps with the design process. I spend a lot of time working on the composition of each design, and can spend hours selecting the perfect colour and typography (I’m real a font nerd!).
LPG: 3. What is the number one thing that you want people to know about inBloom Studio?
ANS: The number one thing I want people to know about inBloom Studio is that we strive to make the design process – whether it’s an invitation, a logo, or a website – fun for the client! I often receive comments from clients after their design project is complete, that they are sad the process has ended! Over the course of a project we actually become friends and many clients have remained friends even when we have finished working together. You don’t get that very often with larger design companies!
LPG: 4. What goals do you want to achieve in the next 5 years?
ANS: In the next 5 years I would love to add some additional products to our existing line of ‘mommy cards’, invitations and posters. I would also really like to add more products to our Etsy store (http://www.etsy.com/shop/inBloomBoutique).
LPG: 5. What are some birthday invitation design themes for kids that you love to make?
ANS: I haven’t ventured too far into the world of kid’s party invitations yet, however it’s an area I’d love to dive into! I recently created a picnic party invitation for my daughter’s first birthday that I loved. Kid’s parties are so much fun!
